A study published in the journal Critical Reviews in Toxicology, in September 2007, has reconfirmed that aspartame is safe.  An internationally renowned panel of experts reviewed more than 500 studies, articles and reports on aspartame, in what is considered the most comprehensive review of the sweetener ever conducted.
